Many stores will consider selling the floor models to customers, especially when they do not currently have the model you are looking for. Sometimes it can be worth it to simply ask, you never know unless you try.
Just ensure that the shade of the stain matched well with the current stain. Within a few days I had a loft bed that was flawless. You would never be able to tell that it had been damaged. I managed to have a little extra cash to get my son a new bed sheet and comforter set with the money I saved.
